Tech Lead - WHS Analytics

At BESTSELLER, we seek an experienced Data Engineer or Tech Lead to join our Data & Analytics Wholesale team. A colleague with the experience and skillset to keep our current solutions running seamlessly, while orchestrating a gradual transfer into a state-of-the-art setup. 
 

YOUR TEAM
You will be part of our Data & Analytics department, which consists of 50 colleagues who share a passion for data and actively drive the data agenda across BESTSELLER. Our goal is to deliver value to our end stakeholders such as JACK & JONES and ONLY, ensuring that satisfaction and quality are always on the radar.
More specifically, you will join 8 dedicated professionals in our Wholesale Analytics team, sharing the passion for creating great products and making good products even better. To achieve this, we create tools that automate and augment decisions with data and insights.

YOUR JOB
Our everyday work involves implementing new solutions to our data model and datasets, all done in close collaboration with our brands, markets, and other core functions. Your role will consist primarily of maintaining and developing our new data products (design, coding, etc.), but also mentoring eager minds, crafting architectures and future technological roadmap together with orchestrating project planning.
As a Tech Lead in our Wholesale team, you will play a significant role in developing our current data models and data marts, suggesting great solutions, and transforming our current Data Warehouse environment into a future-proof Data Mesh Setup. More specifically your responsibilities includes:

  • Improve and further develop our current data products (coding)
  • Review code to improve quality
  • Ensure that technical standards are applied 
  • Technically scope new projects
  • Break down tasks to achievable objectives 
  • Develop and maintain technical roadmaps
  • Manage future architecture 
  • Participate in Technical discussions across Data and Analytics with other Tech Leads spreading best practices and making shared technical decisions across the department

YOUR PROFILE
To be successful in this role, you should have a deep understanding of data modeling, data engineering, and cloud computing technologies. It is expected that you take a leading role in both ensuring stability and quality in the current solution together with scoping and defining the future technological setup in strong collaboration with the team and relevant stakeholders. We expect you to be:

  • Leading by example
  • Excellent communication skills for effective technical presentations to non-technical stakeholders
  • Curious on new methods and technologies
  • Thorough and systematic
  • Understanding business needs and translating these into technical requirements 
  • Challenging setup and solutions both internally and toward stakeholders
  • Fluent in English, orally and in writing

YOUR TECHNICAL SKILLSET
We work with the following solutions, which we expect that you bring experience in:

  • SQL
  • DBT
  • Snowflake
  • Data modeling 
  • Azure Data Factory 
  • Git

WORK LOCATION
Our team is based in our headquarters in Aarhus C and Brande. You are free to choose one of these locations as your primary workplace. However, we expect that you will be present at your secondary workplace at least once a week. We also offer you the flexibility of working from home two days a week.
