You will be an integral part of a dynamic team within the Merchandising Solutions department, a group of over 20 data and AI enthusiasts driving the merchandising agenda at BESTSELLER. Our focus is not only on delivering unmatched value to our end consumers but also on maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction and quality. You will join a product team of ten highly skilled professionals, all committed to harnessing the potential of data to enhance customer experience, streamline operations, and drive revenue growth. 

YOUR NEW ROLE
In the APPRETIO team, you will develop interactive AI solutions that support data-driven decision-making. You will work alongside top-tier merchandisers, data scientists, engineers, and analysts and collaborate with various business stakeholders. Your challenge? To revolutionize our use of data and redefine our business operations and strategy. 

Your responsibilities include: 

• Design and execute analytics and machine learning services for a data heavy analytics web application with huge data loads within a top AI delivery team 

• Engage in application development and data science experimentation to maximize consumer value, satisfaction, and quality 

• Collaborate closely with product managers, merchandisers, and backend developers to deliver seamless user experiences and successful feature implementation 

• Monitor, debug, and optimize machine learning models and applications to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability  

You will take ownership of backend engineering best practices and drive the optimization of data flow from database to UI, ensuring a scalable and future-ready foundation for our AI applications.

YOUR PROFILE
You are an energetic and proactive team player who is motivated by transforming data into intelligent applications. You thrive on collaborating closely with our merchandisers to shape efficient backend solutions that deliver real value. Additionally, you bring a solid understanding of the statistical and algorithmic foundations of machine learning. 

We envision that you bring: 

• A PhD or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields 

• Advanced proficiency in Python and a robust interest in software development, machine learning and predictive modeling 

• Proven experience in deploying AI applications in production settings 

• Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering effective technical presentations to non-technical stakeholders 

The following qualifications would be considered an advantage: 

• Proficiency specifically in Plotly Dash, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, cloud computing services (AWS), and database management systems (SQL, NoSQL) 

• Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and developing/maintaining production-grade web applications 

• Experience with React and frontend concepts or a good working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
