BESTSELLER’s Responsible Sourcing team is looking for a new colleague to support our journey within product safety.
RESPONSIBLE SOURCING
The Responsible Sourcing function sits within the Global Supply Chain business unit. Our vision is to achieve agile, efficient and seamless sourcing and supply chain operations in partnership with world-class manufacturers. The goal of Global Supply Chain is to increase profitability through securing consistent quality performance within stable and resilient supply chain operations. We collaborate with other business units in BESTSELLER, working to support and deliver on brand purchasing and sales strategies, and our Fashion FWD Sustainability Strategy. You will become part of the Product Compliance team, which covers legal requirements related to chemical and physical safety, and sets guidelines for BESTSELLER products. We act as the main point of contact for chemical and physical legislation, testing, and compliance.
THE JOB
As Product Safety Specialist, your tasks and responsibilities include managing global Product Safety and flammability legislation, which involves creating an overview of restrictions across BESTSELLER’s markets and establishing efficient internal processes. This requires close collaboration with laboratories, suppliers, Brands, and colleagues within Global Supply Chain, as well as thorough analysis of international standards. You will be responsible for product safety. This includes areas such as children’s apparel, UV-protective clothing, sunglasses, toys, and other baby and children’s products.
In these areas, you will:
- Develop manuals and policies for physical and flammability requirements
- Build knowledge and offer guidance on children’s product safety
- Providing training and consulting services to our Brands
- Maintain and improve the automated IT system for flammability management
DIVE DEEP INTO PRODUCT SAFETY – AND MAKE YOUR MARK
You will have the opportunity to develop in-depth expertise in product safety, with a focus on flammability, children’s products, and non-garment items. You will work closely with detailed regulatory requirements, contribute to robust processes, and play a key role in ensuring safe and compliant products across our global supply chain.
YOUR PROFILE
You are confident working independently and taking ownership of your tasks. As responsibilities move from brand-specific support to a global supply chain setup, you navigate change with ease and contribute proactively to cross-functional solutions. You work in a structured and analytical manner and set high standards to yourself and others. You know when to stand your ground, but communicate and influence with a friendly and inclusive approach. Your educational background can be manifold, however product knowledge is key.
Furthermore, we are looking for a profile that holds:
