Position: Accounting Team leader
Reports to: Accounting & Performance Manager
Location: Montreal, Quebec

Salary: Between 64k and 72k, salary based on experience

We are looking for an Accounting Business Partner who will act as a key operational and organizational pillar within the finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in day-to-day accounting work, enjoys structure and process improvement, and is ready to take on a leadership role while supporting management with insights and analysis.

You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial records, strong internal controls, and well-organized workflows for our BESTSELLER retail operations in Canada or/ and the United States.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As an Accounting Team leader, you will be responsible for the full accounting cycle while acting as a team reference and business partner.

• Full Accounting Cycle Management: Manage daily transactions through year-end close, including accounts payable, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Support budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis, identifying variances and suggesting improvements.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and regulations, and maintain thorough documentation for audits.
• Team Leadership & Process Improvement: Act as a technical lead, helping to organize workloads, improve team efficiency, and optimize accounting systems and processes.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• 3-5 years of practical accounting experience with strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle.
• AEC, DEC, or DEP in accounting/finance (or equivalent) and proficiency in accounting systems and Excel (including VLookUp, XLookUp, and pivot tables).
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Fluency in both French and English (essential for supporting US and Canadian operations) and demonstrated leadership qualities with a collaborative approach.
