Are you curious to develop your skills and passionate about turning trends into wearable, feminine styles – all while keeping an eye for detail?  At VILA, we’re looking for a Design Assistant to join our creative knit and outerwear team that transforms trends into feminine, commercial styles.  

You will gain hands-on experience in sketching, technical drawings, and product development within our knit and outerwear team, working side by side with a designer. At the same time, you’ll gain valuable insight into occasion wear by creating style cards.

You will work closely with the rest of the design team as well as our buying and pattern design teams. THE JOB
You will be involved in every step of the design process, with a primary focus on knit and outerwear. Working closely with our designer, you will support with sketching, product development and creative input, helping to carry ideas from concept through to final product. You will also join our trend group, where you will contribute with research and inspiration, translating new directions into fresh, saleable designs. This is a hands-on role with plenty of sketching, product development and creative exploration, combining trend awareness with technical design tasks.

Your tasks will among others include: 

  • Create and update technical drawings/flat sketches in Adobe Illustrator 
  • Support the design process with moodboards, colour stories, fabric and yarn development, artworks and placements 
  • Prepare sales material and presentations, including line sheets, look boards, styling samples and showroom setup 
  • Collaborate closely with buyers, pattern makers and suppliers throughout the process

YOUR PROFILE
You are eager to learn and curious to develop your skills – from handling routine tasks to taking part in shaping new designs. With a structured approach and a keen eye for detail, you enjoy sketching, exploring materials and contributing ideas that help move the team forward. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change, and you bring both positivity and initiative to the table. Collaboration is key for you, and you see value in working closely with designers, buyers and pattern makers to create wearable, feminine collections.

In addition, you have the following qualifications: 

  • Educational background within Fashion Design or Design Technology 
  • Knowledge of the fashion industry, and experience within design 
  • Sketching skills and an experienced user of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop 
  • You bring curiosity and enthusiasm for knit and outerwear, with a desire to learn more about materials and construction 
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
